With more than 20 years of experience in pain management, Sheila can help you get back to doing what you love. Sheila can also provide choices for your healthcare and works closely with local doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists in order to provide the most comprehensive treatments possible. Acupuncture is a medical system developed in China using hair-fine needles and pressure to stimulate healing responses for many common issues.

It has been observed and used for centuries, and proven reliable as a contemporary and stand-alone method of healthcare. Gently inserted needles stimulate the body to send signals to the brain in areas where it's gone a little sleepy, in order to heal itself. The body knows what to do, given a little guidance.

I have successfully treated acute and chronic ailments such as IBS, headaches, paralysis, allergies & asthma, menses & menopausal issues, and stroke debilities, plus pain from tendonitis, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Most people report an increased sense of well-being following treatment.

Pain management is one of the best-known benefits of acupuncture, and occurs as the needles send signals to the brain to stimulate healing activities.
Chinese medicine considers pain to be an excess of stagnant, or stuck, energy and has documented physical points that have reliably proven to provide relief.
Acupuncture returns balance, or homeostasis, using very fine needles, pressure, or tuning forks.
Acupuncture needles are hair-fine, and are inserted very gently.
They are single-use and disposed of safely.

Please join Sheila Harris and Lisa Jordan, Licensed Acupuncturists, as we begin offering Acupuncture For Everyone on Thursday afternoons.
Find us at 101 Cottage Avenue, where we will have lounge chairs set up in a group setting.
This is a walk-in, no-appointment-needed opportunity to experience acupuncture.
The setting is quiet, with dim lights and soft music to enhance your treatment.
Each person will be privately interviewed for chief complaint, then invited to quietly choose a chair.
We ask you to roll up your pant legs and sleeves, where we will place needles.

This is me!
I came in to see Sheila with a headache.
The first needle made an immediate difference in my pain.
By the time the session was over, my headache was gone!
I have been seeing Sheila for several years, and once I felt the difference that acupuncture made, I've been bringing a variety of pain and health issues to her.
This is me, with cupping and neuro-acupuncture.
I broke my neck 4 years ago and had a cervical fusion.
When I first came to see Sheila last Fall, I had paralysis on my left side and loss of sensation on my right.

Acupuncture needles are hair-fine, and meant to maneuver around underlying tissues.
They are tapped in very gently, using a guide tube.
Most likely, the only thing you feel is the pressure of the guide tube lining up on your skin over the acupuncture point.
They come in sterile packs, are one-time use, and disposed of in a Sharps container immediately after use.
First, we establish your top complaint.
Pulse and tongue diagnostics are an important part of Chinese medicine, so we look at these next.
