There are a diverse range of acupuncture theories and techniques based on different philosophies.
The method used in TCM is likely the most widespread in the US.
It is most often used for pain relief, though it is very useful for a wide range of other conditions.
Often, heat lamps are employed to warm areas being treated with acupuncture, as well.
